Human Factors in Care Services (6 hours)
Course Overview
Human Factors and Ergonomics is the study of how humans interact with systems with the fundamental aim of getting the job done easier, safer with less chance of errors. Commonly used in the airline industry and acute healthcare, this ground-breaking training focuses the human factors lens on health and social care services. Working in care services is hard, why not make it easier?
This one day course will cover the core basics of ergonomics and environmental design, non-technical skills of your staff team and core leadership. Delegates will also learn about situational awareness and decision-making and common causes of error. Our trainer will also look at the key difference between just cultures and a blame cultures and what to do when things have gone wrong.
Our experienced trainer has nearly 20 years’ experience working as a specialist in the field of autism and behaviour and helped project manage one of the first residential care homes in the country to adopt human factors approaches. He will happily welcome questions and offer supportive strategies throughout the course.
